Oct. 1st

Focus:  Evernote was graded yesterday.  Please number today's focus (#29) despite what number you had previously.  If you haven't been numbering, this is a must.  In the future, I will not grade any notebooks that aren't numbered.  Also, please copy the question, and image examples, and write your response in a different color.

29.  Does this image have a shallow or great depth of field?  How do you know?  What f-stop was most likely used for this photo?  f2.8 or f22

Objectives:
1.  Download Aperture images.
2. Create a contact sheet and post to blog (post title: Aperture - Contact Sheet).
3. Correct 6-10 images & post to blog (post title: Aperture)
4. Select your best image (you may choose up to two if you can't decide).
(View demo & discuss printing)
5. Only after demo, print your best image 10"x7.5" 300 resolution.
(View demo & discuss mounting)
6.  Mount image to display board.
7. Final Blog changes due Friday for blog grade.
(FYI- All assignments to date will be graded on Friday.  Anything not turned in will reflect a zero in Power School)  Please check powerschool, as grades have been recently updated.

Closure: Review this scenario and describe what the photographer should do?
The camera is set on aperture priority mode.  The ISO is set on 1600.  The photographer sets the aperture on f 2.8 for a desired shallow depth of field. When the photo is taken, it is "blown out", too light/bright.  What could the photographer do to remedy this issue.

Homework: Due Monday!!!

Aperture Assignment:
40 photos (min)
2 different locations
use aperture priority or Macro mode or portrait mode (if you don't have aperture priority)
don't forget to vary your angle of view to make more interesting photos

Remember:
f 2.8 = more light, shallow depth of field, larger hole (reduced ability to focus foreground and background at the same time)

f 2.8

f 22 = less light, great depth of field, small hole (greater ability to focus on background and foreground at the same time)
f 22
