Nov. 11th

Focus:  In your own words, describe the function of the quick mask tool.

Objectives:

Attention:  The marking period ends this Wednesday!  Everything must be posted to your blog to be graded (no exceptions).
  • Download portrait from your email and save to your documents.
  • Using quick mask, healing brush, clone tool, layers, dodge, burn, color overlay, & opacity changes, manipulate this portrait to create a "new look" for this woman.  (Be creative!!!)
  • Using multiple images, create a surreal photo inspired by the Surrealism art movement.
  • Focus on strong selection (appropriate feathering) & use of the clone tool (demo to occur).
  • Consider manipulating color or working in black & white to create a more believable final image.
  • Create a "How it was made..." file similar to the ones created by Alyssa G. http://www.chasing-tomorrow.com/

Closure:  Create a list of 5 items that you will bring in for your in-class still life.  Use Edward Weston's "natural studies" as inspiration for your selections.
